For millennia before Europeans reached New Jersey shores, the Lenape/Munsee people were living on the land between the Delaware River and the Atlantic coastal shorelines. These waterways provided vital food sources and transportation routes for these people populating local forests and shores. When colonists came in the mid-17th century, the Lenape’s struggle to survive occupation began. This interactive talk will reveal more about these peoples than we learned in school.
