Songs and Stories from Down on the Farm

  • Beach Haven Public Library 219 North Beach Avenue Beach Haven, NJ, 08008 United States (map)

Dressed in farmer clothes, with a farm backdrop and props, Matthew Dodd sings songs (new and old) and plays the guitar, banjo, mandolin and harmonica while regaling his audience with stories of farming from the Colonial period to this very day.

Hear true stories and legends in the tales of John Deere and Johnny Appleseed and learn about the Grange, an organization which has served as the center of rural life in farming communities since 1867.

Learn interesting facts and hear corny jokes about farmers, barns, silos, farm animals, tractors, 4H and more!

A fun program for all ages, Matt’s show kicks off “Farm Week” at the Beach Haven Library. Story Times with a farming theme follow on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday August 6th, 7th and 8th

RSVP for Down on the Farm: library@beachhaven-nj.gov or 609-492-7081.
